Doing Business with UConn

Partnering with the University of Connecticut

The University of Connecticut purchases a wide range of goods and services in support of its academic, research, healthcare, and administrative missions. We encourage businesses interested in working with UConn to connect with Procurement to learn more about upcoming opportunities, procurement processes, and how your organization may support the University’s needs.

Whether you are an established supplier, a small business, or a new company looking to enter the higher education market, our team can help you better understand how UConn procures products.

We encourage businesses interested in working with UConn to first connect with Procurement to introduce their company, discuss their products or services, and learn about potential opportunities across the University. Building relationships with our procurement team can help suppliers better understand UConn’s needs, procurement processes, and future sourcing opportunities.

Supplier Registration & Management

The HuskyBuy Supplier Portal, which is part of the Jaggaer e-procurement network, allows suppliers to quickly and easily view and maintain the information needed to conduct business with UConn.

Supplier registration is not required simply to introduce your business or explore potential opportunities with UConn. Registration and onboarding through the HuskyBuy Supplier Portal typically occur when a supplier is selected for an award, contract, purchase order, or other University business transaction that requires supplier setup.

Once invited to register, suppliers can use the HuskyBuy Supplier Portal to:

  • Register to do business with UConn when invited by Procurement
  • Provide information about your organization’s goods, services, and capabilities
  • Update and maintain your company’s profile, tax information (ie. W-8, W-9, etc.) and contact information
  • Share applicable small business, supplier diversity, and other certifications
  • Indicate your preferred payment method (virtual card, ACH, or check). Banking information for ACH payments is collected separately by UConn’s Accounts Payable Disbursement Services team through a secure enrollment process and is not stored within HuskyBuy.

When supplier registration is required, our team will provide guidance and an invitation to complete the HuskyBuy registration process.

Supplier Expectations

Suppliers engaging with the University of Connecticut are expected to operate with professionalism, transparency, and a clear understanding of UConn’s role as both a land‑grant university and an instrumentality of the State of Connecticut. Because UConn is entrusted with public resources and serves a statewide educational and research mission, all suppliers must comply with the University’s required terms and conditions, which apply to every transaction—whether governed by a purchase order or a formal contract.

Suppliers are also required to adhere to UConn’s Vendor Code of Conduct, which outlines standards related to ethical behavior, legal compliance, labor practices, environmental responsibility, and business integrity. In addition, suppliers are expected to provide accurate and timely information, meet all performance and delivery commitments, maintain appropriate insurance and licensing, avoid conflicts of interest, and support fair and competitive procurement practices. By meeting these expectations, suppliers help ensure that UConn’s procurement activities uphold public trust and advance the University’s academic, research, and service missions.

Accessing Bid Opportunities

As a public entity and constituent unit of the State of Connecticut, The University posts public solicitations accessible through the Jaggaer portal. To submit a bid, at a minimum, each Supplier must create a Jaggaer profile.  Once a Supplier creates a profile or logs in with their existing profile, they can access the UConn event. For a comprehensive list of active bid opportunities, access the HuskyBuy public bid opportunities portal.
